“I was lucky to find Jean of Verge landscapes to design the landscape for my front and side yards.  From our initial interaction where I was very inarticulate, just showing Jean random photographs of gardens I noticed around town, to the final days of installation, Jean was a steady guide. She quickly captured the “vibe” I was going for and talked me through the hardscaping, plant, stone and boulder selection and even which wood chips/mulch would look best and work within the conditions of my property (type of soil, amount of sunlight, neighbors walking pets, etc.)  If I ever wanted a plant that Jean knew wouldn’t work, she patiently described why. She was patient with and attentive to my budget constraints and worked hard to stay within them. And, when it came time for the installation, she provided several options of individuals and businesses who had offered quotes through her.  She very kindly accepted when I offered one more installation company and I believe we were both so glad she did, as Thomas Smith turned out to be a pleasure for both of us to work with.  I felt so lucky to have stumbled upon these two local small businesses and I couldn’t be happier with the results — so much so that I have them both in my calendar for next year for my back yard.
